School Drop-In & Family Support Therapist

Every Parent and Child (EPC) has been awarded funding from BBC Children in Need to provide multi-modality play therapy /counselling to support the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people, especially those with SEND, living in or at school in Enfield, Waltham Forest and Haringey.

Some children/young people, find it challenging to seek out and accept support. They may feel a huge stigma around ‘mental health’ and thus find it difficult to seek support. In recognition of this, our Wellbeing services is delivered in secondary schools and sits alongside the 1:1 support that we offer.

The Wellbeing service is of a ‘drop in’ nature.  Young people can come on their own either to talk to someone or to just chill out (it’s very hectic in secondary schools!). They may also want to come with their friends as they may have an issue together, to look for that support.

The ideal candidate will need to hold minimum Level 4 Diploma in a counselling discipline and demonstratable experience in the field of working with children and young people. This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
