Every Parent and Child (EPC) has been awarded funding from BBC Children in Need to provide Play Therapy/Counselling to support the mental health and wellbeing of children/young people, with and without special educational needs/disabilities.
We are now recruiting for volunteer counsellors with a child/adolescent qualification/those suitably qualified, or trainee counsellors looking for placement hours. For further details, please visit https://epandc.org.uk/placements-for-counsellors/
The Service is for those children/young people living in or at school in Enfield, Waltham Forest and Haringey (the majority of children/young people will be from Enfield).
The ‘My Time’ counselling service will support children and young people aged 5-18 years.
Counsellors will see children/young people for individual counselling sessions at school time and/ in the evening, Monday to Friday. Evening sessions will be held at our office at Community House, Edmonton, N9 0PZ in agreement with parents/carers of the child/young person and will be dependent on the availability of our counsellors.
The service also employs a part-time School Drop-in and Family Support Therapist to work with identified secondary schools running groups for young people on issues that are affecting them, such as friendships, bullying, as well as providing a drop-in service, where young people can talk through any issues they may have on a one to one basis.
Parents of referred children/young people will also be able to obtain family support/advice to promote wellbeing.
If you are a child or young person and you would like more information, you can visit the pages for children or for young people on our website.
